In 2009, Lon Sorenson went to Thailand in refugee camp and took a picture with a Karen refugee in Mea La Camp.

Lon and Martha Sorenson are our community parents. Lon Sorenson started in 2006 and Martha Sorenson started 2009 in the Karen office to help us. They love us, help us and lead us to be good citizens. Lon spends all his time with us helping our community with love and smiles, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. He transports families; to clinics and hospital, school different companies, different offices and church. Lon help us in one way and Martha another. Martha helps us by reading mail, completing forms like: food stamp, medical, employment, SSI School and many others. In order to serve our community better, Lon went to a Karen refugee camp in Thailand in 2009 to learn more about our people and their daily life when he was in Thailand he lived with Karen families, visited with friends, learned more about their cultured also visited the 60th Karen national martyr's day celebration and Martha give us wonderful, loving and gracious help that we have never seen before in our lives. We thank god for our amazing community parents.
